90年代初頭、国内外の先駆者に触発され、エレクトロニックミュージックの制作を開始。
その後インドでゴアトランスと出会い、帰国後は北海道でのオリジネーターの一人として「DJ IKKE」の名義で主にDATを使った手法を用いDJとして活動、数々の野外レイヴをオーガナイズする。
2001年、DJ活動を休止、本格的に楽曲制作を再開。
過去10年の経験を元に独自の解釈によるエレクトロニックミュージック（一般的にハウス・テクノ・アンビエントと呼ばれるもの）を制作している。
その音には季節の境目がはっきりしたこの土地の特質が現れており、よく晴れた冬の一日のような透明感と、優しさと厳しさを内包する大自然のイメージを兼備えている。 http://www.myspace.com/masashiikeda
"Masashi Ikeda was born in Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan, in
1975. From an early age he was absorbed in electronic music and skiing.
In 1996, he traveled to the Spanish Island of Goa, where he discovered
alternative dance music and the exciting life style that follows it. He
fell in love with them right away and started deejaying with DAT decks
under the name of DJ IKKE in Hokkaido. Headlining at many clubs
nationwide, he is now known as one of the pioneers of dance music in
Japan.
At the beginning of the 21st century, he stopped deejaying and started
making electronic music inspired by his musical journey. Some of his
tracks are used in skiing and snowboading dvds."
