"Christophe Richard (The Hollow Organ, Note!) is an artist and musician originally from Washington D.C. but presently living in Japan.
Although only barely trained or qualified to do so, Christophe has beenmaking music for quite a long time. He has had some training in piano, trumpet, and drumset, but his main instruments have always beenpercussive. This focus translates into compositions that often revolvearound driving rhythms and highly percussive tones.
Christophe splits his time between two musical personas. The HollowOrgan produces experimental, pensive, and playful sounds that come fromhis time spent with broken organs, circuit bent toys, vintagesynthesizers and various acoustic instruments. The results are nostalgicyet curious and strange. The influences of DJ Shadow, Air, The Beatles, and folk music? occasionally sneak into the work of The Hollow Organ.
His other half is Note! - an artist that almost exclusively producesmusic from antiquated video game hardware. Currently using the MSX andNintendo GameBoy, Note! takes the familiar tones of lo-bit music andplaces them in the current musical context; creating music you neverwould have heard coming from a game console 15 years ago.
Christophe is also a printmaker working primarily with vinyl, wood and stencil
