1982 Began making music after being inspired by German electronic music. 1986 Began producing and engineering own music as well as other peoples. 1993 Feeling the need to branch out in new directions, established own label ? TTB Studio. Since then Atsuhiko Nakatsubo has produced music for a wide range of genres including. fashion shows, sports tournaments, theatre music, computer game music and tv animations. He is well versed in retro culture, especially sixties sci fi movies, the soundtracks of which are one of his strongest influences. His music is also inspired by early synthesizer masters such as Wendy Carlos and Isao Tomita. The visionary genius of pioneer synthesizer creator Robert Moog has also been a big influence. Most of Atsuhiko Nakatsubo’s sounds are created with his large collection of vintage analogue synthesizers from the 70’s and 80’s eras. Since the 1980s he has produced many songs which are a cross between folk and electronic music. He specializes in producing mostly without the use of computers. 1999 set up alias fish tone as a separate entity, alongside Atsuhiko Nakatsubo. Has produced a number of remixed songs within the PC world under both aliases. 2007 did one hour live improvisation concert at the opening of an art gallery using several different analogue synthesizers. Outside of music Atsuhiko Nakatsubo is an avid fan of anything sixties and has a large collection of curios from that era including hundreds of robots and unique toys. Has released three albums under internationally renowned labels Columbia and Crown records. Is currently in the middle of producing an international compilation album. |

Ryan Smith、 A.K.A Silversmith is a sound designer from Wellington, New Zealand. He studied composition, orchestration and musicology At Victoria University (Bachelor of Music 2004) and was drawn towards the crystalline sounds of the gamelan orchestra there. In 2004 he spent 3 months in Jogjakarta, Indonesia on a scholarship to study Javanese gamelan further. In his current work, acoustic instruments, most notably piano and female voice, are recorded mostly in his Wellington studio located at the entrance of a bird sanctuary and edited and subtly manipulated electronically then blended with these synthetic versions of themselves creating an evocative and often glimmering, melodic sound world. Influences of gamelan music creep into his compositions in transfigured form. He also dabbles in original ’synth orchestrations’ using his own vintage synthesizers and those from the incredible collection of TTB Studio. His compositions are essentially explorations to find where spirit blends with matter and technology in todays world. And as spirit can be found in the most unlikely places his influences also reflect this. They range from modern classical music, especially minimalism, to alchemical imagery , Aphex Twin, the pop mysticism of anime, sci-fi and horror movies, Scriabin’s aural theology and Vangelis (minus ‘Chariots of Fire’). His job at a New Zealand radio station allows him to access and listen to CD’s from one of the largest music libraries in the country. Ryan also composes music for films which have screened internationally and as far from New Zealand as Spain, and art installations. |

“Christophe Richard (The Hollow Organ, Note!) is an artist and musician originally from Washington D.C. but presently living in Japan. Although only barely trained or qualified to do so, Christophe has beenmaking music for quite a long time. He has had some training in piano, trumpet, and drumset, but his main instruments have always beenpercussive. This focus translates into compositions that often revolvearound driving rhythms and highly percussive tones. Christophe splits his time between two musical personas. The HollowOrgan produces experimental, pensive, and playful sounds that come fromhis time spent with broken organs, circuit bent toys, vintagesynthesizers and various acoustic instruments. The results are nostalgicyet curious and strange. The influences of DJ Shadow, Air, The Beatles, and folk music? occasionally sneak into the work of The Hollow Organ. His other half is Note! ? an artist that almost exclusively producesmusic from antiquated video game hardware. Currently using the MSX and Nintendo GameBoy, Note! takes the familiar tones of lo-bit music andplaces them in the current musical context; creating music you neverwould have heard coming from a game console 15 years ago. Christophe is also a printmaker working primarily with vinyl, wood and stencil. |

The beginning of winter in 2005, Mizukami(Pleasant Sound), Hiroki Onodera(Sound Processor), and Oike(Drumsports) formed a 3-piece band “Olololop” in the north city. Olololop has a mission that leads us to the peak where the souls are expanded and contracted. Olololop’s performances show the glimpses between the rhythms of roars and silences, between connected bodies that throb full of life. They evoke the sounds of interwined souls and scattered energies, strange sounds and spontaneous, serious voices. They play sampled, processed sounds through damaged keyboards and countless instruments. All of these make a triangular amplifier built upon the miraculous power of language and elements of existing music. Olololop creates unprecedented trance music with uplifting psychological effects. This is why they are often thought of as a contemporary active band. |
